Crawford joins Jeanfield Ladies Support Team

Jeanfield Swifts Ladies are delighted to announce the appointment of Rory Crawford as Sponsorship Manager.

Presently studying for a BA in Sports Management at Abertay University, Rory met up with the squad last week where his initial proposals were enthusiastically received.

Rory is a keen sportsman and attended Glasgow School of Sport to specialize in hockey and he also played in New Zealeand during summer of 2012. His interest in sports business/management began when studying his HND in Sports Coaching with Development of Sport at North Glasgow College, during which time he also set up his own sports based business.

Rory regularly volunteers time to coaching hockey with a number of teams which he combines with his studies at Abertay. He also fits in playing for and being club president of Abertay University hockey club.

"I am thrilled by the opportunity that Jeanfield have gave me to create a hands on work placement directly linked to both my degree pathway and my intended line of work. Steve Grossi and the rest of the team have been nothing but supportive and accommodating of my ideas and suggestions in my short time I've been working with the club. There is a great story here at Jeanfield which I feel many local businesses will want to support, and I'm hoping to increase awareness and create a network and I suppose a family of sponsors who can become part of the fabric of the team. There are a variety of ways in which a business or individual can support a club and I'm looking to explore all options. I'm also looking to create a real match-day experience which will hopefully involve the youth players, supporters and sponsors."

General Manager Steve Grossi was delighted with the appointment. "I've been very impressed with Rory's approach so far, and I believe he is going to galvanise the local business community with his fresh ideas and desire to offer sponsors the chance to become very much part of the club. The promotion to SWPL2 and the support structure required certainly adds to the clubs running costs, but it also offers the opportunity to market the team due to the exposure of the SWPL and this is where we believe Rory can assist the club and gain some great experience as well as enjoying being part of the team".

Anyone interested in sponsoring or assisting the club in any way should contact Rory on 07891 232011 or rory_crawford_94@hotmail.com
