Jeanfield Swifts are delighted to confirm the introduction of an under 17s side for the 2014 season.

The team will be managed by Paul Gray who returns having coached the younger age groups at Jeanfield a few years ago. Paul will be looking to use his contacts to bring players in to compliment the present Jeanfield U15s who are making the step up.

Paul commented “I’m delighted to be returning to Jeanfield. In recent years the club have really developed the whole girls section with lots of support from the Club in general, including the Juniors. There is a real togetherness and the facilities are excellent. I think I will have the basis of a really good side. My teams have always looked to play good football and I’m expecting the same in 2014”.

Chairman Steve Grossi added “we are delighted to have a 17s side back at Jeanfield. We are also hoping to see some more familiar faces return to the side in 2014. We can now offer girls a full pathway from U9s to National 1st Division and would hope that this will allow us to continue the recent development of the girls side and attract even more players to the club. With many clubs reducing their commitment to the 17s age group we feel this is a very positive statement from Jeanfield Swifts. We’ll give Paul and the girls every support we can and look forward to seeing the girls continue to develop”

Any girls looking to play U17s should contact Paul graypa@blueyonder.co.uk or Donna Shaw donnashaw1@hotmail.co.uk The club would also welcome additional coaching resource for the 17s and all other age groups, and interested parties should also apply to Donna.
