McCrindle Delighted with Quality Signing

Jeanfield Swifts Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Fox for the coming 2016 season.

Alex is a product of Monifieth youth system, coming up through the ranks in a successful squad. She moved to Forfar Farmington and quickly worked her way into the senior squad by the time she was 16. She made her debut in the SWPL in the 2014 season before establishing herself in the senior development squad last year. It wasn’t long before she was called back up to the SWPL squad last year and was part of the team that successfully stayed in SWPL 1.
Alex has been capped for her country, being selected 3 years in a row for the C.Y.P Scotland squad, winning the home nations tournament in 2014.

Head Coach Jason McCrindle was delighted to secure Alex for the season ahead. "What has really impressed me is that Alex has shown a real desire to come and play here and to challenge herself. I only want to add players with quality and Alex certainly fits the bill. There is a really positive atmosphere about the club just now and the girls are delighted that Alex has joined.".

On joining Jeanfield, Alex said “I can't wait to get started. I've trained with the squad a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The girls get on really well, there is a really good atmosphere and I'm not surprised that the team has done well in the last few seasons with promotions and a cup win. It’s been hard work, but the training sessions have been great. There is also a great support network being developed at the club with the partnership with St Johnstone, Stuart on the media side, new senior goalkeeping coach, and the introduction tonight of the new physio. There has obviously been a lot of work done since the promotion and it really is a professional set-up. I am really looking forward to working with Jason who has been really positive with me, and the girls, and to playing at Premier level again.”

The midfielder has had a taste of the top level, and is no stranger to getting on the score sheet netting 5 times in the SWPL. She is now looking forward to developing and taking the next step in her career.

Welcome to the club Alex
