Jeanfield Swifts are delighted to confirm that Louise McClelland will coach the U13 girls next season.

She will work with the present management team of Tracey Ferguson, Martin Young & Ryan Crockatt in working with the talented set of players.

McClelland will be looking to pass on her experience gained as a player for the Ladies team that has progressed so well. Donna Shaw was delighted to secure Louise for the 2016 season. "Louise has spent the last 12 months educating herself as a coach by doing her badges to 1.3 level and is now ready and deserves her opportunity to take her own team. She starts her C licence later this month and has been part of a mentoring programme with Danny Griffin. She is also a very popular girl around the club and I'm looking for her to bring her personality to her sessions and the team. The 13s are a very talented group and I'm looking for Louise to bring them on."

Louise herself is ready for the challenge. "I'm going to miss playing but know give as much if not more to the club in a coaching role. I love being part of the club and I've really enjoyed doing the coaching courses and getting involved with the coaching team in the last 12 months. This new role allows me to start putting what I have learned into practice and I can't wait. I've also learned a lot practically from working as a player for Steve and then Jason and I'll be taking what I've learned there into my coaching. I want to see my players enjoy their football and develop both as players and people. It should be fun! ."

Ladies manager Jason McCrindle was full of praise for McClelland. "I think it is great that Louise is going to join the coaching team. She is Jeanfield through and through and it is vital that we retain committed people like her as it will improve the younger players being coached by an experienced player who has been educating herself this year, but also Louise will act as a great role model and her enthusiasm for the club will rub off on her players. It should create a very positive environment for the team. I'm also hoping to pass on as much as I can to Louise as a coach and wish her every success".

Current 13’s coach Martin was delighted on hearing the news. “Louise is great to be around and we have enjoyed doing coaching badges and coaching together in 2015. She will be great form the girls and for Ryan and I”.
