Kennoway leave it late in Regional Cup Quarter Final
For the second week in succession Jeanfield 03's faced a tough away cup fixture this week at Cotlands Park vs Kennoway.
Again the game was in the balance going into the final stages only for two late goals to deny Swifts a place in the last four.
Both goalkeepers were called into action several times to keep the scoreline blank and the home keeper denied Jorge Palma Montano when through one on one late in the second half. That would prove to be vital as minutes later Kennoway would take the initiative. Jeanfield missed their tackles at the edge of the box and half a yard was all that was needed for the home side's Dylan Walker to strike an instinctive low shot past Fraser Cumming in goals for Jeanfield. 1-0.
Jeanfield pushed for an equaliser but the home side would take advantage on the break to claim a second in the final few minutes, with Walker again on the scoresheet. The game would finish 2-0 and Jeanfield could count themselves unlucky in a game that looked destined for extra time.
Good luck to Kennoway in the semi-finals.
We return to Cotlands in the league on Saturday 6th April, with 11am KO.
