Jodie's Return to Football Well Received at Jeanfield

When Jodie Morris was looking to return to football following the birth of her son Cullen she took on an additional challenge by trialling up at Jeanfield in SWPL2.

If she was apprehensive then she shouldn't have worried. She impressed so much that this week Jason McCrindle moved quickly to secure the central defender's signature for the coming season. He explained "I can't praise Jodie highly enough. She gave herself a huge challenge to return to football at a higher level than she was playing previously, and balancing this and a new family is incredibly difficult especially considering the extra travel involved. She has however shown a fantastic attitude which has made her instantly popular in the squad and she has adapted very quickly. After training well she gave us a great performance in her first bounce match and that was enough for me. She adds a bit of experience to my squad and also gives me something a bit different from my other defenders. She has taken everything in her stride and looks to be enjoying the environment here".

Jodie was positive about her return "Having been out for a year I was a bit apprehensive about starting to train and play again. However the girls and coaches have been very welcoming and supportive. This season playing in SWPL2 will be a huge challenge for me but I am looking forward to it and excited to be part of a great team. There's a few new signings and I think we have all gelled together and I'm looking forward to the new season."

Jodie is presently trying to source a sponsor. Any individual and/or business who may be interested in supporting Jodie this season can contact Marketing Manager Rob Higgens sponsorship@jeanfieldswiftsgirlsfc.co.uk 07887 474082
