With numbers increasing at all age groups within the club, the Swifts are looking for additional coaching assistance. The club are happy to welcome either experienced coaches who are looking for a new challenge or younger coaches who are looking for some coaching experience.

The two areas of particular need are the U9s School and the Ladies Team. Head Coach Donna Shaw explained why the posts were a positive step by the club. "We want to increase our coaching resource at the 9s and 11s level as we have encouraged a large nunber of new girls to the club and it is important that their first year is one that is fun and also gives them the basic skills that they will then utilise throughout their time at the club. Sufficient coaching resource is therefore vital. Our older players are involved to give them coaching experience and they are doing really well, but I'd like a bit more help at that level.

The Ladies side is also developing strongly. Last year's promising season added to the team spirit has made being part of the Ladies team a really enjoyable experience - I should know as I'm one of the squad in my spare time !! - and we are delighted with the response. We offer females aged 16 and over the opportunity to play organised football to a high standard, but also training facilities for those who may just want to stay fit and enjoy being part of the club, or perhaps want to get back into football. Steve already has 21 players taking part in relaxed close-season training and is looking to encourage as many more as possible. Once pre-season training starts in January, with these increased numbers, we are going to need some extra coaches to ensure that training is as effective and enjoyable as it was last season.

The club will financially support you through coaching courses and with club kit and will assist you in obtaining PVG clearance. You will also be able to coach with the other age levels to widen your experience. It really is a great time to be involved with Jeanfield Girls !"
