Child Wellbeing and Protection

Jeanfield Swifts is a Community Football club committed to the highest standards of wellbeing and protection for Children and young people and as such we embrace the approach taken by the SFA. This document sets out our club policy and reflects our view about the priorities concerning the safety and wellbeing of young participants in sport and football.

As a club with a full pathway to senior adult football for boys and girls, it is our responsibility to provide a safe and positive experience across all age groups and throughout a child's journey with the club.

That responsibility is shared by every member of our club from club officials, coaches, volunteers, players and supporters and applies to every child regardless of age, gender, ability, ethnicity, religious, social or economic background.

This policy is applied by our Club Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers and all coaches, have completed the SFA online Coach Education workshop – Children’s Wellbeing in Scottish Football.

Our belief is that football clubs can make hugely positive contributions not just to the development of young footballers but to the development of confident young people who can realise their potential. This is only possible in an environment where safety and wellbeing are the foundations, that’s why I advocate that all our members follow and implement this policy.
