After the tie was switched from the inch to Riverside, Jeanfield played hosts and welcomed Polteam AFC for the final game of the league cup group stages after a thunderous victory and performance on Saturday Jeanfield went into tonight’s game full of confidence and that confidence was quickly rewarded after only 9 minutes when, after some nice build up play Caldow found hobbit who bombed down the right flank, found himself in a great position just indeife the box and calmly slots it under the keeper GOAL 1 v 0 JEANFIELD

Jeanfield dominated from then on in and 10 or so minutes later Colin Henderson played a pristine eye of the needle standard through ball to Sam Grieve who picked up where he left off for his first of the evening and Jeanfield second GOAL 2 v 0 JEANFIELD

At 2-0 with confidence growing every pass Jeanfield were left feeling hard done by after the referee awarded a dubious penalty decision with after Kris Sime was deemed to foul the attacker and received a yellow card for his trouble. As the penalty taker for Polteam stepped up in a stagger fashion he smashed the ball towards the top right hand corner only for Jeanfield’s number 1 Thomas Morrow pull off a breath taking save to keep the score the same. SAVED 2 v 0 JEANFIELD

A few minutes later after a break down in communication Polteam got themselves back in the game. GOAL 2 v 1 POLE TEAM

30 mins into the game Jeanfield were forced to make their first change of the match after a tough battling Boyd Ferguson unable to continue was replaced by Chris Tanyous

3 mins later and Jeanfield restored their 2 goal advantage after goal scorer of the 1st hobbit assisted Sam down the right hand side before Grieve moved in and out of the defenders before placing past the helpless keeper GOAL 3 v 1 JEANFIELD

With half time approached Jeanfield put the game to bed after a fantastic bit of footwork from Marc Caldow saw him nut meg one defender before skipping past another finding an unmarked Scott Phillips to slot home for his 2nd of the season GOAL 4 v 1 JEANFIELD

HALF TIME JEANFIELD 4 v 1 POLE TEAM

Second half , same Jeanfield attitude near enough straight from kick off Jeanfield attacked the Pole goal and won themselves a corner, a fantastic delivery from Terry Young was met by 50p heed Sime who’s managed to get himself free of his marked for an easy header GOAL 5 v 1 JEANFIELD

Manager Scott McCabe took the opportunity to introduce new signing Josh McCleary into the mix and it took the debutant all but 1 minute to make an impact, a great darting run to the front post he met a lovely drilled ball from Terry Young with a cheeky flick to get his Jeanfield Career under way GOAL 6 v 1 JEANFIELD

A nasty head collision saw Josh’s game ended 6 minutes after it started. As both players went for the loose ball in the air an unfortunate clash meant Josh could no longer continue. All the boys wish Josh a speedy recovery and hope to see him in the black and white again in no time.

Daniel Brown replaced Josh with Mark Henderson replacing Kris Sime 5 mins later to freshen up the Jeanfield for the remaining 25 minutes

Jeanfield continued to press Polteam even with the score at 6 as the management team really wanted to make a statement and in the 77th minute Substitue Daniel Brown got in on the goals after a great ball from Captain Henderson saw Hobbit almost double his goal tally as the ball bounced off the cross bar allowing Daniel to back heel flick the ball in mid air into the back of the net GOAL 7 v 1 JEANFIELD

It’s a no brainer who got the 8th for Jeanfield with Chris Tanyous having a thunderous shot that managed to go a whole 2 yards before Scott Phillips lifted it into hobbit who drilled it bottom left as the keeper didn’t even move. GOAL 8 v 1 JEANFIELD

Long ball over the defenders head was met by Caldow who controlled it extremely well on the turn and found the back of the net GOAL 9 v 1 JEANFIELD

Jeanfield were reduced to 10 man after a battle between the opposition and young centre half Mark Henderson, after a stray elbow caught Henderson he reacted and kick out, the referee spotted it and presented Mark a straight red for his troubles, frustrating for the youngster but we are sure he will bounce back and learn from the incidents

The 2 yard strike from Tanyous was a clear decoy as Jeanfield broke away with 3 players closing in on the pole goal, Skipper Henderson watched Caldow and Tanny move to each side of the captain before he slotted the ball to Tanyous who shot past the keepers right side into the net. GOAL 10 v 1 JEANFIELD

Jeanfield added more misery to their opposition and ended a fantastic evening off with Caldow scoring his 2nd of the night after Tanny rounded the defender, slipped the ball into Caldow’s path who hammered the ball to the left hand corner GOAL 11 v 1 JEANFIELD
