After a disappointing defeat in the Scottish cup last weekend Jeanfield Swifts hosted Aylth in the North of Tay 2nd round tie at Riverside
The first half had no real chances of note but Jeanfield dominated through large spells. Unfortunately neither keeper was really challenged as the first half came to a close with the only notable moment being a Sime booking.

The second half was a different story with both teams looking to go for the win which added a little bit of a kick to the game. The deadlock was finally broken in the 70th minute after a mother spell of dominance from Jeanfield. A corner was launched in by Brown towards the back post which saw Scott Booth climb above his man and guided the ball over the keeper in to the back of the net. GOAL 1 v 0 JEANFIELD
Jeanfield continued to be the dominant team after that goal however Alyth weren’t going to be pushed aside easily and started attack after attack of their own. As the visitors charged forward young M.Henderson managed to pick the ball up just before the half way line and played a great 25 yard ball into debutant Sean Coull. The new Jeany striker controlled the ball tremendously well, then in one quick movement turned and smashed the ball past the keeper. GOAL 2 v 0 JEANFIELD
Jeanfield looked victorious with only 3 minutes to go but Alyth got back in the game as the Swifts switched off and Alyth capitalised. GOAL 2 v 1 ALYTH
The swifts saw the tie out and will be delighted to advance to the next round.
All the best to Alyth for the rest of their season.
