If Jeanfield want to be serious contenders for the league this year it’s vital they make the most of the games remaining and the message was loud and clear after an astonishing 14 v 0 victory at the hands of Scone Thistle this weekend.
Jeanfield were optimistic after a good battling win the week previous but knew a professional performance was still required in order to gain the 3 points.
The precedent was set after just 8 minutes when a great delivery from Kris Sime saw Chris Bell meet the ball with a strong header to hit the back of the net for the 1st of the day. Jeanfield never looked back after that moment and dominated from then on out.
Captain Colin Henderson scored before doubles from Josh McCleary and Kris Sime saw them 6 up after 40 minutes, Chris Bell then got his second of the match just before the break to ensure a very comfortable half time team talk for the home side

The second half underway and a relentless Jeanfield weren’t done yet. 4 minutes after the restart young Josh McCleary managed to secure his 1st hat-rick for the club after a well played piece of work saw veteran Chris Bell slot him in to cooly finish past the keeper
Moments later Scott Booth got in on the act with a bicycle kick to find the back of the net for the 9th
The goal would be Booths last bit of action as Jeanfield freshened up with some substitutions, seeing Grieve, Matheson and Phillips come on for Booth, McCabe and Henderson who notched up a hat-trick of assists in the 1st half.
Scone almost scored after Thomas Morrow was booked for handling a pass back but the wall stood solid to prevent any goal from the indirect free kick. Minutes later Scone found more misery when a ball played in was met by the boot of their defender who saw the ball slam into his own net.
Substitute Sam Grieve added another 2 goals before the best goal of the game came from a 20 yard rocket off fan favourite Ross Angus who drilled the ball home much to the delight of the home bench.
Kris Sime’s wasn’t quite finished as a great run saw him get his 3rd assist as he set up Terry Young at the back post for the final goal of the game, placing the ball into the back of the open net for the 14th
Jeanfield’s Management team were left delighted with the result where for once we let our dominance show. Scone are young side which are still new to league and will get better with experience and we wish them all the best with the rest of the season.
