Jeanfield welcomed Alyth AFC to the riverside in what was sure to be tough game for both sides and it did not disappoint.
Both sides looked to get ahead early with the home side having the better of the chances which eventually paid off in the 30th minute when some great work from young striker McLeary, who managed to hold off the opposition before beating another and playing a fantastic ball into strike partner Grieve, who with a little work still to do managed to find himself one on one with the keeper and played the ball up and over into the top left hand corner with ease GOAL JEANFIELD 1 v 0 Alyth
Alyth came close to equalising just before the break when the home side switched off momentarily which allowed the opposition attack to nip in but his effort found the wrong side of the post allowing the Swifts to clear away
A late tackle on Jeanfield keeper Thomas Morrow brought worry to the Swifts bench but he bravely battled on and pulled off a fantastic double save just before the interval

Jeanfield, happy with the 1st half came out hunting again in the 2nd and 10 minutes after the restart a free kick played in from Mark Hope saw the silver fox Chris Bell use all his knowledge to judge the flight of the ball and nipped in to play the ball through the keepers legs GOAL JEANFIELD 2 v 0 Alyth
With a tough tackling feisty encounter it’s hard to believe it took 70 minutes before the 1st yellow card was shown as both sides looked for the next goal, which was found 5 minutes later again from that man again, Chris Bell after some good play up the left saw a ball in from Scott Phillips met by the striker who calmly slotted it past the keeper GOAL JEANFIELD 3 v 0 Alyth
Jeanfield content that the game was over took the foot off the gas for 1 moment which allowed the away team to find a way back into the game after a ball into the box saw their striker to play an over the head ball to the back post which was met by the away team to find the back of the net GOAL Jeanfield 3 v 1 ALYTH
With the rain now pouring down at the riverside, tackles got harder and in the 89th minute one tackle lead to handbags between the both sides seeing 3 players yellow carded for their trouble and a bag of bibs find their way onto the pitch.
6 minutes injury time came and went before the ref blew his final whistle of the day ensure the Swifts to take another vital 3 points in a very hard fought game by both sides.
Thanks to Alyth and all the best for the rest of their season.
