Jeanfield dropped 2 valuable points in the race for Super League promotion on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Dundee Violet.
The visitors had already defeated Lochee United on their on own patch and gave Dundonald a scare down in Cardenden so Swifts knew this was going to be a tough assignment.
It took until the second half introduction of Robbie Holden for Swifts to find the net a the ultimate poacher headed home with his first touch of the ball.
It was the home side who started well and Chris Dodd hit the post following good work from Chris McLeish. Dodd then returned the favour by setting Beako free but the keeper did well to block his effort wide. Lewis Baker was next to strike that same post when he drove forward and shot from the edge of the box and beat the keeper but it hit the post and went for a goal kick. Beako once again hit the woodwork who he directed a Scott Mollison cross back towards goal but it clipped the bar and went for a goal kick. Swifts were so on top at this point and Tony Holt had an effort blocked by the Violet defence following good work from Lee Deans. It was one way traffic at this point and looked like the goal was coming soon.
Violets best chance came from a Swifts back pass. Kevyn Fowler from the half way line lobbed the ball back to Mark Mitchell. He overcooked it though and looked to be heading in but Mitch moved his feet well and stopped it from being a what happened next moment. From a corner on the right Spzak had a free header when was easily gathered by Mitchell.
Swifts then had a strong claim for a penalty when Molly played Beak through on goal and it looked like he was taken out but the referee pointed for a goal kick with Swifts players and management screaming for a penalty.
It was the visitors who had the opening chance of the second period when they released number 16 through on goal but Mitchell spread himself well and make a great save knocking it away for a corner.
Minutes later though Violet did take the lead. A free kick was floated into Swifts box where Spzak rose highest and headed past Mitchell into the far corner of the net. Swifts will have to start taking chances so missing all these chances does not come back to bite them in the backside.
Lewis Baker was replaced by the returning Holden prior to the game restarting.
It was "Goalden" who levelled minutes later when from 6 yards he headed Dodds cross into the roof of the net giving the keeper no chance.
This drove the home side on and Dodd was next to pepper the visitors goal but his effort was straight at the keeper. Holt then made a mazy run and passed to Holden but he was blocked and it fell to Dodd but he blasted wide of the target.
With 10 minutes remaining Violet were reduced to 10 men when O'Connor was shown a red card for kicking out at Keith Dewar.
In injury time Dewar had a great chance to claim the free points when Chris Anton crossed from the right and Holden dummied leaving Dewar in space. for all the world it looked like he would score the winner but the keeper made a great block and the visitors held out for a point which was celebrated like they had claimed all 3.
Swifts will need to find their goal scoring touch once more as Armadale Thistle come to the Riverside. 3 points for the home side will see them top the league once more with Dundonald on cup duty
