2 goals in each half saw Swifts claim the East Region Premier League with victory over relegated Oakley United.
The visitors dominated the game from the off and finally took the lead when Kevyn Foler intercepted a pass and drove into the box. He crossed for Chris Dodd who touched past his man and smashed the ball past the keeper to loud cheers from the magnificent Jeanfield support who made the trip down to West Fife.
The lead was soon doubled and once again it was Fowler with the assist. As previous he broke into the box and crossed for Chris McLeish this time. The Swifts number 9 ran onto the ball and smashed it into the top corner to even more loud cheers. Great goal for Beako who had missed several chances up to that point.
With the 2 goal lead at the break it was stressed to Swifts that they could not relax and had to get back on the attack and kill off any chance the home ide had of taking anything from the game.
Minutes into the second half it was 3 and it was club legend Tony Holt with the close range finish after Dodd had skinned his man on the wing and crossed into the box. The fourth goal came with 10 minutes left and it was Stevie McManus who struck from the edge of the box beating the keeper, who had done well to keep the score down, with the aid of a deflection.
Oakley scored from the penalty spot just prior to the final whistle when a forward was impeded in the box and coolly knocked the penalty past Mark Mitchell in the goal.
When the ref blew the final whistle their was joy and elation from the players, coaching staff and the largest Swifts travelling support that I can remember in my time. Thanks to everyone of them who made it to the games from all the players and coaching staff and I hope to see you all again next season.
It was left to captain Chris Anton to receive the Premier League Trophy which was then lofted high into the air and sparked jubilant scenes on the pitch and in the changing rooms from the Swifts heroes.
