A late Ross Gunnion header gave Swifts a share of the points against Broxburn but it felt like we had dropped 2 points after throwing away a 2 goal lead at the break.
Swifts were on the front foot from the off and Lewis Baker set up Robbie Holden whose shot was well blocked by the visiting defender. Lee Deans thought he had given Swifts the lead when he bulleted in a Tony Holt free kick but the stand side assistant flagged for offside when the scorer looked like he was on.
The opening goal came soon and it was after some neat link up play between Holt and Holden that saw the ball fall to Bakers feet in the box and he rounded the goalkeeper and fired the ball into the empty net. 5 minutes later the lead was doubled and it was Baker again. This time he picked up a loose pass in midfield and drove past a couple of players and fired into the corner of the net from the edge of the box. That was the end of the scoring and Swifts went into the break with a 2 goal lead.
Swifts were warned at the break that the visitors would come on to them and that was the case. Mark Mitchell did well to palm away a Nimmo shot for a corner. Broxburn pulled a goal back when a free kick from the left was headed into the net by Locke. Minutes later they were level and it was almost an identical goal. This time poor defending allowed an easy cross from the left and this time Miller headed the ball past Mitchell into the net.
This seemed to wake Swifts up and Keith Dewar hit the side netting after being set up by Scott Mollison who had come off the bench.
However this being Swifts saw the visitors take the lead with not long remaining. The ball was played across the Swifts goal but not cleared and then play back across to Miller who had just came back on to the pitch headed into the net from a kneeling position. Swifts were adamant that he was offside but the same lineman from the first half wasn't sure what he was doing and let the referee make the decision.
Swifts threw bodies forward in the hope of an equiliser and it came when the goalkeeper bundled a Mollison corner off the head of Gunnion and into the net.
