2006 boys first competitive league match ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Breadalbane. Honours were very much even in the first half although Breadalbane had a goal disallowed for offside. The boys created a few chances in the first half but couldn't quite find a way through a sturdy BSYFC defence.
2nd half was more of the same although as the game wore on BSYFC started to create more and were rewarded with 15 mins to go with goal after good play through the middle. Jeanfield though had a superb chance to equalise soon after when a fantastic run and cross was met in the middle only to fall kindly to the BSYFC goalkeeper. A last ditch corner also gave the boys hope for a leveller but unfortunately was dealt with by the opposition GK.
In summary, a good performance by the boys in their first league encounter which merited a draw and there are lots of positives to be taken for the season ahead.
