2006 vs Letham Sky Blues

The boys were back to league business on Thursday night with a rearranged fixture at Seven Acres against Letham Sky Blues. Early exchanges were pretty even with a few chances at both ends. The Sky Blues hitting the post with a glancing header being the closest. Jeanfield though broke the deadlock midway through when some nice play down the right gave Matthew a look at goal and he coolly dispatched a low shot into the bottom corner.
As we approached half time, the lead was extended when the ball broke to Callum in the box and like all good strikers he calmly shot into the corner to give us a two goal cushion going into the break.

The 2nd half had barely started when the boys further extended their lead. A lovely through ball from Fergus was met by Callum who slotted into the bottom corner. This fired up the Sky Blues though who started to really press and were rewarded with a goal to make it 3-1 and give them hope for the comeback. Whilst there was some nervous moments, our nerves were calmed with 10 mins to go when Callum was through on goal...despite being pushed out towards the bye-line "Chopper" completed his hat-trick with a superb lob from a tight angle.

A superb performance all over the park by the boys. All of them put in a fabulous shift and fully deserved to see their efforts merited with our first league points of the season. Hopefully this will be the catalyst to really kick start the season.
Man of the Match could have went to a number of the boys but when you score an away hat-trick you deserve it so the MOTM went to Callum aka "Chopper".
