Jeanfield Swifts 2006 vs Bridge of Earn

Another lovely morning for our home league fixture against a strong Bridge of Earn side. The away side were out of the traps early and took the lead on 10 mins when we failed to clear our lines and were punished with a great shot from the Brig striker. Boys though played their way back into though and were rewarded with an equalizer when Fergus popped up to strike after a goalmouth scramble. ⚽

The boys then took the lead when a poor clearance fell to Fergus who calmly beat a player before slotting a lovely shot into the bottom corner. Both teams were pressing but half time approached without anymore goals ⚽

As expected Brig came out strong in the 2nd half and with a few subs and added impetus drew level with another good shot. The boys plied on gamely but lacked slightly the zip they had in the 1st half and Brig finally edged ahead again midway through. They then put the game safe with another great shot. A penalty near the end for Brig gave the score a more flattering look. ⚽

The boys were great today (especially 1st half) and gave one of the stronger teams in the league a right good match so whilst a wee bit disappointed the boys can take great credit. ?⚽

Man of the Match was Angus. Commanding performance in between the sticks, some great saves and fantastic vocals organizing the defence in front of him. Well done Angus ⚽
