Under 15's win the PKYFA League and cup double in style

In front of a bumper crowd at the Riverside, Jeanfield 2003's capped off a superb season by securing the league title in their last match vs Bridge of Earn.

If Jeanfield were to lose the game, close rivals Breadalbane could force a league play off match. Perhaps that was on the minds of the home side as they looked unusually nervy in the opening 20 minutes. Bridge of Earn settled much quicker and threatened to take the lead more than once.

But against the run of play Jeanfield opened the scoring, a great ball over the top from Lewis Finnie picked out the run of Saul Robinson wide left. The keeper came out to try and intercept but Robinson's pace and composure saw him execute a perfect lob to give his side the lead.

The second would follow shortly after and it was all Robinsons own work. He anticipated a lose ball in midfield, nipped in and drive forward leaving defenders in his wake, a side-foot finish from the edge of the box extended the lead. 2-0 HT

The home side knew they could play better and came out for the second half determined to put on a show for the watching crowd. Jamie Oswald, Lewis McGregor, Callan Dalrymple and Joe Jeffers all came on and a number of substitutions would follow as all the squad would play a part in a great second half display.

Within the first ten minutes Jeanfield added a third, Daniel O'Callaghan, played a superb first time through ball and Jamie Oswald did the rest clipping a great finish past the keeper. Mark Cunningham was next to strike, sending a 25 yard free kick past the keeper.

The game was over at this stage but O'Callaghan added the gloss to the match, with four more goals of his own to complete a magical evening and a great season.

The winning margin was unexpected after the first twenty minutes but a proper team performance secured a healthy win and ensured the league title for the Riverside team.

With the Sprinterz league cup won a few weeks before, Jeanfield finish 2017-18 as double winners.
