Great season from Jeanfield 2004s

The last week has seen a fantastic end of the season as we ve completed the league and Cup double.

Our season started though back in August and we started with wins over Cupar A 5-0 and Bridge of Earn H 4-0.

We had a setback in August though when our home game against Scone was postponed after a bad injury to Jake, thankfully Jake has made a full recovery and is back playing.

September saw the Scottish Cup and wins over Broughty Utd H 6-0 and Bridge of Earn A 7-0 saw us through the first 2 rounds. We also beat Letham Tangerines H 4-1 in the league.

Just one game in October and 2-1 win away to Crieff.

We raised a few eyebrows when we announced our winter training twice a week 9pm til 10pm but the boys seem to love it and the numbers turning out throughout winter was great.

November saw one of only two defeats all season 5-0 A to Kilsyth Ath in Scottish Cup.

The boys bounced back from that though with 3 wins, Bridge of Earn A 2-1 , Cupar H 3-1 and Scone H 10-0.

December saw two wins over Scone A 4-2 and Letham Tangerines A 3-1.

Onto 2019 and wins in January over Breadalbane H 6-1 and Cupar A 5-2.

February was a frustrating month with no games but we did get some good news when Connor and Robbie were selected for the East Region Squad.

March started with our second defeat of the season as Dundee Celtic put us out of the Regional Cup 2-1 after extra time.

A 1-0 H win over Crieff put us in pole position in the league though.

Back to back wins over Letham Tangerines in April, 3-2 H in league and 5-3 A in Cup.

May started with three games in the first week, wins over Bridge of Earn H 2-0, Scone H 6-4 and Breadalbane A 3-2.

The Sprinterz Cup Semi Final was won 5-0 against Scone H and so we went to Crieff on a sun evening knowing a point would win us the league. The boys won it in style though with a 3-1 victory and followed it up last Wednesday with a 7-0 win at Ballinluig over Breadalbane to complete 18 wins out of 18 in the league.

Yesterday they completed the double when a goal 2 mins from time saw us win the Sprinterz Cup 1-0 against Bridge of Earn.

The boys have been terrific all season with some great passing football. They all play in the right manner, in three years of 11 a side football we have never seen a player sent off and have had very few yellows, we ve never had a lad suspended.

Last year the burden of goals fell heavily on one player and while Ben R has once again been our top scorer this season it’s been more shared about.

Goalscorers

Ben R 26, Callum W 19, Alex 16, Jay 11, Kayden 6, Robbie 5, Jacob 3, Connor 3, Ben Mc 2, Scott 2, Jack 1, Joel 1, Ruairi 1, Samuel 1

Cole in goal and the defence have been in great form all season as well.

A thank you to all our parents for their support and a thank you to our generous sponsors Robertson and PDM drains.
