Chris Mathews22 Apr - 16:00

A new era is here at the Riverside as McCrindle prepares to lead the Swifts into next season alongside a new-look coaching team.

Jeanfield Swifts FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Jason McCrindle as the club’s new First Team Manager. McCrindle will succeed Robbie Holden, following a detailed recruitment process that drew interest from across the Scottish football pyramid.

McCrindle arrives at Riverside Stadium with a wealth of experience in the East of Scotland League, winning the East of Scotland Cup and having success in the Scottish Cup with previous sides.

A Strong Coaching Core
The new manager will be supported by a dedicated backroom team designed to ensure continuity and tactical depth:

Scott Sutherland: The highly-regarded coach remains a vital part of the first-team setup, continuing his work alongside Jason.

Chris Dodds: In an exciting transition, the veteran Swifts player will step into a dual Player/Coach role.

Additional Appointments: The remainder of the coaching staff will be announced shortly.

"Throughout the whole process, there has been nothing but positivity, from initial conversations with the coaching team to the committee," said McCrindle. "It was evident from the beginning that we were all aligned in what we wanted to achieve. Myself, Scott, Chris, and the rest of the management team are looking forward to getting started with the players next season and continuing the good work done by Robbie and his staff."

The Selection Process
Club President Del Mathieson highlighted the high quality of the conversations held throughout the recruitment period, noting that the vacancy attracted significant interest.

"The process was extremely competitive," Mathieson said. "The committee worked through a thorough shortlisting process before selecting Jason and his team. We are very happy with Jason and we are fully aligned on the future direction of the club."

The Transition Period
To ensure the squad remains focused and the handover is seamless, McCrindle will work closely with outgoing manager Robbie Holden between now and the end of the campaign. This collaborative period is designed to give the new staff a head start on preparations for the 2026/27 season while respecting the work currently being done on the pitch.

Farewells to Club Stalwarts
While the club looks forward to a new era, it also marks the end of a significant chapter. Alongside Robbie Holden, the club confirmed that Bally, Nathan, and Amber will also be stepping down from their roles at the conclusion of the season.

The club wishes to place on record a massive thank you to all four for their incredible dedication and hard work over the years. They leave with the very best wishes of everyone at Jeanfield Swifts.
