Today's announcement of the DCMS Phase 5 investment includes funding for Swifts

Jeanfield Swifts is delighted to be among the 36 Scottish recipients of funding from the DCMS (Department for Culture, Media and Sport) Phase 5 investment for multi-sport grassroots facilities announced today.

Swifts will receive its share through the Scottish Football Association's Pitching In programme, which is responsible for allocation of the DCMS funding in Scotland. The funding is going towards realisation of Phase 1 of the club's long-term vision of establishing a modern, all-weather football facility that caters for the needs of a diverse community at its Riverside Stadium base in North Muirton, Perth. Additional funding has been secured from Perth and Kinross Council, the Gannochy Trust and the Scottish Football Partnership, with the club also committing funds from its own trust.

“Our vision aligns perfectly with the DCMS and SFA’s funding priorities,” said a project spokesperson. “As well as our long-held desire to provide a facility to match the quality of our club community, we’re aiming to create Scotland’s first purpose-built facility for women’s and girls’ football, addressing a critical gap in the national sporting infrastructure while building on our already thriving women’s program.” The social impact of the project extends far beyond traditional football. The club already runs innovative community programs including recreational and walking football for women, the Welcome League for asylum seekers, holiday camps for local children, and the School of Football at Perth Grammar School. The expanded facility will amplify these efforts while simultaneously freeing up scarce municipal pitch resources, benefiting other clubs and teams throughout Perth & Kinross.
