Jeanfield had a flurry of chances in a short spell, Right Back Reid had a chance to score, but his header at the back post glanced just wide. McLaren chopped inside and curled and effort on goal, but his shot was saved and then cleared for a corner. From the resulting set piece Whitehead came close to heading home, but could not quite connect with the ball.
Chris Dodd added a 6th goal of the game for Jeanfield Swifts 78 minutes in. Dodd received the ball on the edge of the box, taking a touch and unleashing an absolute peach of a strike on goal and into the top corner of the net. The last and best goal of the game, from the man who opened and rounded off the scoring.
Jeanie still had a few chances left in them, with McLaren coming closest to scoring, with the opposition keeper denying him his 2nd goal of the match, saving at the near post with his legs.
Overall, a dominant performance from Jeanfield Swifts resulted in an emphatic 6-1 victory at the expense of Tynecastle FC. A magnificent attacking display earning Gunnion’s side the win on the night and it could have been double figures.
