Jeanfield Swifts u20’s beat Bo’ness United by two goals to one on a cold night in Bo’ness.

Following a solid start to the season, our U20’s were in league action tonight with a trip to face Bo’ness United at Newtown Park.

In a relatively scrappy game hampered by the wind and rain, it was two early first half goals that proved to be enough for three points despite a resilient late fight back from the 10 man hosts.

It was the 13th minute when Jeanie took the lead, a well delivered free kick from Callum Wilkie fell at the back post and was knocked back across goal and it was our September Player of the Month Elliot Scott who was at hand to stab the ball home and give Jeanie a deserved lead.

12 minutes later, and Jeanie doubled their lead following some nice build up play, Ben Clos and Evan Wolecki linked up extremely well and it was Evan who slotted home past the keeper.

Jeanfield dropped their levels and Bo’ness fought back, following some slack play in the midfield and a Bo’ness counter attack, our lead was halved following a good finish from the Bo’ness striker.

A scrappy second half ensued which had more fouls and cards than it did football, the home side being reduced to 10 men following a touchline rammy.

The hosts fought back late on and put plenty pressure on Jeanie but it was the away side who held on for another three points on the road. It wasn’t our best performance of the season but the train continues ?
