Jeanfield travelled to Crieff to play Vale of Earn in the Semi final of the Perthshire Cup. With loads of players missing it was going to be a tough game against a strong opponent that has had the upper hand in previous meetings.
It was Jeanfield who started off stronger getting stuck in and stopping Vale from playing. On the 13th minute Jeanfield launched in a freekick that was cleared by Vale and started a counter attack. Seconds later the Swifts found themselves 2 on 1 and Vale punished them with a nice finish into the bottom left corner. Jeanfield tried to get back in the game quickly, winger R.Henderson's shot 1on1 with the keeper was saved which resulted in a corner. B.Potter whipped in a spectacular cross and S.Buchan got onto it at the front post to equal the game on the 20th minute. A minute later B.Carle slid through A.Phillips who didn't miss the 1on1 with the keeper to take the lead. Jeanfield were dominating and made it 3-1 before the half when A.Phillips slid in R.Henderson who hit it first time into the far corner of the net from 25 yards out. Spectacular goal.
Second half seen Jeanfield continue to create chances but not convert. Vale started getting into the game and on the 71st minute reduced the deficit from a corner that was bundled in. Minutes later Jeanfield looked like they were going to crumble and the equaliser came. Run wasn't defended well on the left, a low cross met an unmarked striker and his shot found the net. Vale then pushed for the winner but the Swifts keeper kept them at bay with some brilliant saves. With the game looking like it was going into injury time Jeanfield got a corner on the 93rd minute. The ball was whipped in and S.Buchan met it sending the ball into the net and the crowd wild.
