Match Report - Jeanfield Swifts AFC v Auchterarder Primrose AFC

In the first round of the Perthshire Cup, Jeanfield Swifts AFC faced Auchterarder Primrose AFC, and the match venue was shifted to Auchterarder's astro turf after three previous failed attempts to play the fixture. Auchterarder's collaboration to make the game happen was appreciated.

Jeanfield Swifts dominated possession, showcasing hard work on and off the ball, with impressive passing from the back through the midfield to the forwards.

In the 7th minute, Jeanfield took the lead 1-0 as K. Mitchell assisted B. Carle.

Shortly after, in the 11th minute, S. Phillips scored, assisted by K. Mitchell, after good football build-up.

However, Auchterarder responded on the 13th minute, capitalising on a rebound after Jeanfield's keeper spilled a shot.

The 35th minute saw R. Green's delightful through ball finding K. Mitchell, whose backheel in the box was finished by S. Phillips from 8 yards.

Just before halftime, in the 44th minute, B. Green scored his first goal for the club from a tight angle with a great finish.

At halftime, the score was 4-1.

The second half brought further success for the Swifts. In the 48th minute, K. Mitchell rounded the keeper after receiving a through ball from B. Potter, making it 5-1.

On the 64th minute, K. Mitchell's corner met by K. Sime's head extending the lead to 6-1.

J. Jardine made it 7-1 in the 65th minute, scoring from the edge of the box after a good lead-up play.

In the 80th minute, R. O'Connor slipped it to J. Jardine, who played a through ball to B. Carle, scoring his second with a low drive from 12 yards to make it 8-1.

The 83rd minute brought another goal as K. MacDonald won back possession, played to C. Findlay, whose cross to the back post found B. Carle for his hat trick, making it 9-1.

Jeanfield were reduced to 10 men on the 86th minute as defender J. Stewart was sent off for kicking out, although the game was already won.

The 89th minute saw a missed penalty by B. Carle, who sent the keeper the wrong way but failed to hit the target.
