Match Report - Jeanfield Swifts AFC v East End Thistle AFC

Following two unsuccessful attempts to hold the game in Dundee, an executive committee call-up, and an East End appeal to the SFA, the fixture was eventually relocated to Perth. The Riverside pitch, in impeccable condition, awaited the eagerly anticipated match.

Jeanfield seized control early, employing a high-tempo approach, and their midfield asserted dominance throughout, with the ever-present M.Boyle showcasing his experience. Despite every attack appearing poised to score, the East End defense executed last-minute tackles and blocks. Jeanfield then notched three goals in a remarkable four-minute span.

In the 27th minute, a superb free-kick by Jeanfield led to a goal. The keeper's failed punch clearance landed six yards out, and as the East End defender attempted to clear, the ball found M.Boyle on the touchline. M.Boyle's brilliant outside-of-the-foot shot hit the far post, delighting little Leo Boyle on the sidelines.
