Match Report - Jeanfield Swifts AFC v Burrelton Rovers AFC

The Swifts started steadily, but an unfortunate mishap in the 8th minute saw them trailing 1-0 as a Burrelton player capitalised on a goalkeeper's clearance error to slot the ball home. Despite numerous chances for both sides, the score remained unchanged going into halftime.

After the break, Jeanfield came out with renewed vigor. In the 53rd minute, a well-executed long throw found R. Green, whose shot, possibly deflected, found the back of the net. Shortly after, a flick from K. MacDonald set up B. Calderwood, whose sublime finish into the top corner put Jeanfield ahead. Burrelton clawed back into the game with a goal in the 60th minute, but it proved to be their last hurrah.

Jeanfield took control as the game progressed. In the 74th minute, a free kick flicked on by K. Sime was pounced on by A. Abboud to regain the lead. B. Carle extended the advantage in the 80th minute, scoring from a corner, before sealing the victory in stoppage time after A. Abboud's pressure led to a turnover, allowing B. Carle to complete his brace into an open net.
