Jeanfield made the trip to Blairgowrie to take on Balmoral AFC at Blairgowrie FC’s excellent astro pitch, setting the scene for a great match.
After just 5 minutes, K. Brown delivered a low cross into the box where A. Abboud slid the ball into the net, but the referee ruled it out for offside.
In the 28th minute, Jeanfield took the lead when another low cross from K. Brown was cleverly left by A. Abboud, allowing L. McManamon to smash the ball into the net.
Just three minutes later, in the 31st minute, K. Mitchell’s pressing paid off as he stole possession on the edge of the box and fed K. Brown, who hammered the ball home to double Jeanfield’s advantage.
Shortly after half-time, in the 48th minute, K. Brown again burst down the left wing and squared a low ball across goal for A. Abboud to slide in.
In the 53rd minute, Jeanfield made their pressure count. L. Bloomer drove into the box and fired a low ball across for A. Abboud, who swiveled smartly and shot into the net.
By the 57th minute, Jeanfield were in full control. A long throw from S. Buchan was flicked on by A. Abboud, and K. Mitchell volleyed home with precision.
Jeanfield made all of their substitutions and an injury meant they dropped down to 10 men for the last 15 minutes. That being said Jeanfield continued to dominate, and in the 86th minute, a corner was headed back into the danger area by S. Buchan, with K. Sime reacting quickly to finish left-footed from close range.
In the 91st minute, L. Bloomer threaded a pass through to J. Jardine, who beat his man and calmly slotted home, finally getting on the scoresheet after a few earlier missed chances.
Then, in the 93rd minute, Balmoral grabbed a late consolation goal when they worked the ball into the box and found the net.
