Jeanfield travelled to Blairgowrie’s Davie Park to face Alyth. The last meeting ended 7–0, and with the pitch in poor shape, it was a relief that the council had cut it ahead of kick-off.
The Swifts struck early, taking the lead inside the first minute. The “Jeany Cafu” R. Shillan switched play from right-back to left wing, finding K. Mitchell’s incredible run. Mitchell’s first touch was perfect as he slipped the ball past the keeper. At the other end, J. Welch and his back four were solid, limiting Alyth to just one chance. It should have been offside, but Welch pulled off a brilliant double save regardless. Credit to Alyth, who sat deep, worked hard, and made things difficult, while Jeanfield were wasteful in possession and lacked their usual quality in the final ball.
The second half followed a similar pattern — plenty of Jeanfield possession but failing to capitalise, with Alyth unable to create much themselves. Debutante K.Green came the closest with a shot that hit the post. The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute when J. Jardine broke down the right, delivered low, and R. Gilles bundled the ball home. Three minutes later, A. Abboud was brought down in the box, winning a penalty that angered the Alyth sidelines. The striker made no mistake from the spot to put Jeanfield 3–0 up. The win was sealed in the 85th minute when B. Blyth rose highest from a corner, his header falling to Jardine, who swivelled and found the bottom corner.
Jeanfield left with another clean sheet and three points.
