Jeanfield welcomed Kettins to the Riverside for a league clash.
The Swifts started brightly, creating several chances in the opening 20 minutes, only to be denied by some sharp goalkeeping. Their breakthrough came in the 24th minute when an A. Philips corner was flicked on by A. Abboud and headed home by B. Blyth. Despite continued pressure, Jeanfield couldn’t add to their lead, squandering multiple opportunities before the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Jeanfield in control, until the 76th minute when a quickly taken Kettins free-kick caught them off guard and was toe-poked into the net. The visitors then gained momentum and went ahead in the 83rd minute when their danger man was allowed too much space, drove into the box, and finished at the far post.
Jeanfield regrouped and pushed for an equaliser. In stoppage time, B. Calderwood surged forward and delivered a pinpoint cross for J. McCleary, who smashed the ball home in the 91st minute to the delight of the home crowd. Just as it looked like the points would be shared, disaster struck — Kettins broke into the box in the 93rd minute, won a penalty, and converted it with the last kick of the game.
Kettins scored three goals from their only three shots, leaving Jeanfield stunned after a frantic final 15 minutes saw all three points slip away.
