Jeanfield made the trip up the A9 to Aberfeldy on Tuesday night for a tough midweek league clash against Breadalbane AFC — never an easy fixture, especially with players coming straight from a day’s work.

The Swifts started brightly, dominating possession in the early stages but struggling to find that final touch in the box.

The breakthrough finally came on the 30-minute mark following a well-worked move. A ball forward to A. Abboud was cleverly flicked into the path of K. Brown, who slipped in J. Jardine. The keeper came out and made contact, but the ball broke kindly for Abboud, who showed great composure to lob home from 30 yards.

Breadalbane responded six minutes later with a dangerous free-kick that wasn’t dealt with, allowing their striker to get a shot away from inside the box. With the effort heading goal ward, N. McNicoll produced a superb diving block to somehow keep the ball out and preserve the lead.

Jeanfield looked to kick on after the break but were handed an early warning on 51 minutes when Breadalbane thought they had equalised from a corner — only for the referee to rule it out for a foul.

The Swifts capitalised on that let-off just five minutes later. Goalkeeper J. Welch launched a ball forward to J. Jardine, and after a defensive clearance fell loose, A. Philips picked it up and slipped Jardine down the left. He cut inside confidently and curled a fine finish into the far bottom corner to make it 2–0.

With control of the game firmly in their hands, Jeanfield continued to press while remaining solid at the back.

The third goal arrived on 77 minutes from a well-executed set-piece. K. Mitchell delivered a corner into the box, and R. Shillan met it sweetly on the volley from around 12 yards, firing home his first goal of the season in style.

Breadalbane did create a couple of late chances, but J. Welch ensured his clean sheet remained intact with an outstanding point-blank save and commanding work under a series of crosses.
