Swifts Hit Harp for Ten in Dominant Away Displa

Jeanfield Swifts hit the road for an hour-long trip to Arbroath to take on Harp, looking to make a statement. While the away setup featured excellent facilities, the pitch conditions left a lot to be desired. However, the bumpy surface did nothing to slow down a relentless Jeanfield side who put on a devastating attacking display from the first whistle.

It took just 2 minutes for the Swifts to make their mark. Mark McNicen found space to fire a low cross into the box, where an unmarked Kros Brown showed great touch to delicately redirect the ball into the net.

Jeanfield continued to apply the pressure, and on the 20-minute mark, Jack Jardine picked the ball up out wide and rattled the crossbar. Just 3, Jardine had his goal. Kyle McDonald drove forward with purpose, looping a beautiful ball over the top to Jardine, who brought it down expertly and lashed a left-footed strike past the keeper.

The floodgates were well and truly open. At 25 minutes, Corey Davie rose highest to meet a Rian Shillan corner, but his connection made the ball fall to the ground where he eventually poked it in.
5 minute later, Jeanfield scored the goal of the half. Kyle Mitchell played a perfectly weighted ball over the top, met by a brilliant surging run from right-back Davie. Davie hit it first time, forcing a good save from the Harp keeper. Jardine was quick to the rebound and unselfishly laid it off to Davie, who smashed it into the top corner from a tight angle to grab his second of the game.

Just before the break, Aidan Smith whipped in a deep cross. Jardine climbed highest in the box to head it on target, and the Harp keeper could only parry the powerful effort into his own net, sending Jeanfield into the break with a commanding lead.

The tempo didn't drop after the interval. On the hour mark, knowing his substitution was imminent, Jack Jardine decided to leave one final mark on the game by winning a penalty. He stepped up, coolly converted from the spot, and jogged off with a brilliant performance under his belt.

3 minutes later, it was time for the fresh legs to shine. Kyle Mitchell showed great footwork to swivel inside the box, losing his man before fizzing a low cross into the danger area. Ronan Gillies reacted fastest, getting to the ball first to score from close range.

By the 74th minute, Jeanfield were slicing through the Harp defense at will. Aidan Smith slid a clever pass into Adin Philips, who was promptly brought down inside the box and the Harp player was shown the red card. Corey Davie stepped up to the spot with his hat-trick on the line and emphatically smashed it home.

Frustrations began to boil over for the opposition in the closing stages. A silly shout to the referee resulted in a red card in the 76th minute, followed rapidly by another sending-off in the 78th for a poor tackle, reducing Harp to nine men.

Jeanfield took advantage of the extra space. In the 78th minute, Kyle Mitchell let fly with a shot that was initially saved, but Nathan McNicol was perfectly positioned to bury the rebound.

The action still wasn't over. In the 80th minute, the lively Adin Philips was brought down in the box once again. This time, Ben Calderwood took penalty duties and made no mistake, capping off a phenomenal team performance.

Despite the tricky pitch, the Swifts were clinical, ruthless, and played some fantastic flowing football. A thoroughly deserved three points to take back down the road.
