Mills at the double

Jeanfield made the short trip to Dundee to face North division side Lochee Harp in the second round of the GA Cup.

The Swifts would be looking to bounce back from the poor display the week before against Lochee Utd.

Jeanfield started like a team possessed and could easily have been 3 up inside 10 minutes, but for an inspired Keeper with save after save. Deans also went close with a powerful header that almost split the bar in two. The rebbound to that effort was headered goalwards by Mills only to be cleared off the line.

It took Swifts 39 minutes to find the net with a well worked corner with Mills finishing off with a close range header.

Then Swifts made their own contribution to Harps equalizer on 43 Minutes by losing the ball in the center of the park. Deans played a square ball to Mackie in the centre circle, who then slipped, and Connelly was on the ball in a flash, looked up and seen the Swifts keeper off his line and Lobbed him from 45 yards.

The second half played out the same as the first with Swifts doing all the pressing and shooting on sight with Anton, mills and Mollison trying to get on the scoresheet.

Then on 60 minutes Jeanfield restored their lead when Mollison and Fergus harrassed and harried the harp players out on the left, Fergus came out with the ball, played a square pass to Scott in the center of the park 25 yards out. Scott then waltzed past 3 Harp players driving in to the box and dispatched a powerful shot in to the far corner. Great Goal.

65 Minutes and Jeanfield were awarded a penalty when Keith Dewar was brought down in the box after refusing to give up on a ball that was going to be cleared. Mills stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way.

The game continued in the same manner until the final whistle with Mills and Fergus having shots cleared of the line and Davies being denied by the inspired Harp Keeper.
