Before the game, there may have been some feeling that Jeanfield might be capable of an upset, but nobody foresaw what would unfold on an unforgettable day for the club.

A bumper crowd witnessed the home side come out of the traps full of energy to match their ambition.

Within minutes of kick off an early goal from Dayle Robertson settled the nerves and then the classy Chris Mcleish returned a double to haunt his old side. The Swifts never looked back. A shell-shocked Elgin were four down at HT when confident Robertson added his second.

The uphill battle ahead for the second half would be too much for the visitors and Chris Scott capped off the astonishing performance claiming a brace of his own. Six goals and a clean sheet, sees the Swifts dreaming of a big draw in the next round.

According to sports historian @AndyMitchMedia the result is the biggest Scottish Cup victory by a non-league team over a Scottish League team since 1896!!

Great celebrations would rightly follow the win and the team and all the club's supporters can now look ahead to the next round draw.
