Swifts entertained Murieston for the last game of the season. In a game played in a good spirit it was the home side who finished off with a win and secured third spot.
Swifts started well and were on the front foot and took a deserved lead when McGinley crossed to the back post and Todd converted with a neat side foot volley.
Todd then doubled the lead, put through by McGinley she struck a great shot home form the angle of the box.
Swifts were strong at this point and Todd had a chance for her hattrick but instead chose to cross to Smith who popped her effort over the bar when one v one with the keeper. Smith then outstripped the visitors defence for pace, steadied herself but her strong strike was expertly saved. McFadyen then tested the keeper with a long range effort.
At the close of the half the visitors came back into the game but Cameron, making her debut in the Swifts goal, proved up to the task with safe handling and good organisation of her defence.
With the half ending quietly Swifts hoped to pick the pace up in the second half.
It was the visitors however who got the next goal when Cameron parried the striker's shot and the Murie front line reacted quickest.
The game then opened up with both sides looking for the next goal. Swifts got it when McFadyen was put through by MacLean and finished low past the keeper.
Cameron than made a great save at the feet of the striker and McFadyen was now in full flight and was delivering cross after cross from the right.
The game ended 3-1 and the Swifts were able to celebrate an excellent season.
Jason McCrindle was pleased with his team's efforts. The girls were able to play without pressure today having earned that right with their work so far. They gave me everything I expected of them and I was delighted to see them get the win to secure 3rd place. A magnificent effort from the girls this season and they deserve all the credit they get for their efforts"
